State Audit Research Tool Now Available From Tax Analysts

March 2, 2018

Tax Analysts, the nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that publishes Tax Notes, the leading multimedia source of in-depth analysis and insightful commentary on tax administration and policy, today launched Tax Notes Audit Insight, a new research tool for tax practitioners working with state auditors.

Tax Notes Audit Insight helps tax practitioners easily search and navigate through hard-to-find audit training materials to find the rules and procedures they need to remain tax compliant. Features include a comparison tool to view documents side by side, relevant tax audit news, and tools to add highlights and annotations to any document, categorize notes with customizable tags, and easily share with others.

In developing this new product, Tax Analysts secured hard-to-find and sometimes obscure audit training materials from most U.S. states and a few multistate organizations, including guidance on corporate income tax, sales and use tax, income tax, property tax, sampling, and more.

“In the past, tax practitioners had to play a game of hide-and-seek – state by state – to uncover this information,” said Libby Powell, chief marketing officer of Tax Analysts. “With Audit Insight, they can find all that is needed in one place. In fact, they can even personalize it by creating customized tags to categorize their annotations. This interactive tool is a game-changer for anyone who does audits.”
