Tax Analysts’ State Tax Today Introduces State Tax Amnesty Programs Feature

June 3, 2013

New Tool Provides Quick and Easy Access to Information on All Amnesty Programs

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – Tax Analysts, the nonprofit provider of federal, state, and international tax news and analysis, today announced the addition of a State Tax Amnesty Programs feature, a tool that offers users a single place to find amnesty programs offered in all 50 states and other localities for all tax types. The new tool, available to State Tax Today subscribers, provides an outline of important details, such as the available time period, applicable tax years, and related coverage; a link to the enabling legislation or regulation; and any guidance that has been issued.

Amnesty programs offer taxpayers the ability to come current on their tax liabilities with reduced penalties and interest. The programs are constantly changing and are typically offered for only a short period of time. This tool will be updated continually to ensure practitioners have the latest information.

“Because practitioners are always short on time, our goal is to provide them with quick and easy access to information they will find important,” said Cara Griffith, editor in chief of Tax Analysts’ state publications. “This is the first in what I hope will be several ‘practice tools’ that we can offer subscribers.”

The new State Tax Amnesty Programs feature is available as part of Tax Analysts’ State Tax Today, an online publication dedicated solely to providing comprehensive news and analysis of current state and multistate taxation issues. The publication offers:

    • In-depth coverage of the latest tax decisions from the U.S. Supreme Court and state supreme and appellate courts
    • Administrative rulings and regulations from all state revenue departments
    • Legislation from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories
    • Special reports, in-depth analytical articles, investigative reports, and commentary from leading practitioners, scholars, and government officials

You can view the tool here.
